This time around SO7 spent an entire week in Malaysia carrying out a more vigorous promotion campaign of their latest album 07 Des. The boys were bounced around like a game of basketball from media to media: photos shoots, radio interviews, tv gigs. Word has it that they were even involved in productions of shows set to air for Hari Raya. Yes, SO7 is nicely gathering up sale numbers of 07 Des in Malaysia that are the envy of even our local artists: an impressive figure of 30,000 copies in 4 months. Back home, Indonesians have already racked up almost 1,000,000 of the sweet things.
Lead vocalist Duta started singing from "...jika kau menjadi istriku..." and the girls just went hysterical. As the band got into their groove, fans were treated to the band's latest songs such as Tunjukkan Padaku, Bapak Bapak, Pria Kesepian and Saat Aku Lanjut Usia. Duta, Eross, Adam, Sakti and Anton also didn't forget to play the hit songs that made them popular such as Dan, Anugerah Terindah yang Pernah KuMiliki and J.A.P.. A song that brought tears to some people's eyes was Sephia, for some reason or another. Admittedly that song does have a rather melancholic affect.
The concert finally ended with the most anticipated song of the night: Seberapa Pantas. Despite the censorship that was imposed on the song for the Malaysian market, Sheila on 7 sang the original version of chorus, so as it approached that portion of the song, Duta and fans were purposely shouting Celakanya... as loudly as they could muster all their vocal chord energy!
Later that night after HRC, Sheila on 7 performed Seberapa Pantas on TV3 on a phone-in game show. That gig however was lip-synched (it was so obvious). Maybe TV3 was afraid Duta might slip up and say Celakanya instead of Oh sayangnya...?

Once again Sheila on 7 landed onto our shores and rocked Malaysians like only a popular Indonesian band could. The boys come here so often that they might as well call Malaysia their second home! After all they were just here earlier this year to entertain their fans with a "Peaceful" concert four months ago.
Today on their last day here, SO7 dedicated an evening to perform for their fans at Kuala Lumpur's Hard Rock Cafe. Hundreds of people poured into the diner with SO7 lyrics already faithfully memorized in their minds, and all were warmed up to jump Duta-style. When SO7 finally made their appearance onstage with the introduction of Hingga Hujung Waktu playing in the background, the crowd roared and cried like Judgement day had arrived, and taking their souls away was exactly what SO7 did to their fans!
Nothing too unusual occurred while this energetic gig took place, although a girl did pass out before it started. The only reason why I knew was because I saw a bodyguard carrying the limp girl dressed in pink from the crowd on the CCTV. After the first song, Eross (guitarist) seemed dissatisfied with his guitar as you can see him fickle-mindedly switch from one guitar to another until he found the perfect one. Eross also has this habit of instructing stage crew members during midway-show to fidget around with the sound system until he was completely happy with the outcome. It's as though little attention was paid to soundcheck prior to them performing. Or maybe he's just picky.

Tu lah, I pun perasan gitaris yang selalu passive sorang tu tiba2 hyper like firecrackers this time around. BTW, what effect bulu2 you talking about nih? My God, Banting is still the benchmark ye... harks.
