#346. I have been frying oreos and such for about 5 years. The key is to make sure that the batter is nice and thick. Also, if you are going to do candy bars, freeze them for at least 24 hours before you fry them. So far I have fried: cheesecake, cookie dough, assorted candy bars, oreos, twinkees (always popular), grilled cheese. It is actually easier if you go to your local supermarket and buy funnel cake mix instead of making it from scratch. The funnel cake mix works much better. People call me the fry master, so if you have any questions, i can definitely help.

#345. Don't blame Americans, well ok you can, cause we are responsible for alot, but the fad was actually started by a Brittish man in New York. His restaurant is called The Chip Shop. He fries EVERYTHING. I saw someone mention pizza earlier, it has been done, as well as whole hamburgers (bun and all), snickers, cheesecake, candy bars, ice cream. You name it it has been battered and deep fried.

#343. Thanks for the great recipe. We were just trying out our new T-Fal deep fryer that I just picked up at Target today and my daughter had a hankerin' for fried oreos. Since I did not have a recipe, I searched it on Google and you popped up. I didn't have pancake flour, but I did have Krusteaz pancake mix, I used it instead. I used 1 cup Krusteaz pancake mix and 3/4 cup milk and 1 egg. I deep fried them in the deep fryer at 375 degress farenheit. They were excellent, with the left-over batter, I made a funnel cake. Powdered sugar and all. It was the summer fair all over! Thanks for the recipe, and keep up the good work.

We might be rednecks, but we know good cooking when we see it. And a few of us actually have an education.
But thanks again for the recipe, will definitely give it a shot. Maybe even for the Christmas party at work where I can control the temp of the deep fryer.

#271. Hi DONNY! Cempedak, nangka, they're all the same to me. But I'm sure you're right on the food naming, jackfruit might indeed also mean "nangka" in Malaysia. Thanks for the correction.
And yes I sure do know for a fact that a lot of men too like cooking, so my apologies if I seem shortsighted on this particular aspect. Hail ye to male cooks!
And hey hey, my nickname is not in anyway associated to anything derogatory. Fairy as in fairies and pixies ok.

#270. Yuck!!!! Buset dah! Sori kalo ngomong rada kasar. Nggak kebayang aja rasanya.
Anyway, thanks for the 'recipe'! I'm a big fan of your Ketupat Daun Palas page and I thought I'd try looking at your MyIndo.com. Awesome!
Boleh koreksi dikit? Nggak tau gimana di Malaysia, tapi di Indo cempedak dan nangka (jackfruit) are two different fruits (albeit very similar). Nangka is more round and campedak is more elongated and smells 'funnier'.
Personally, nangka dan durian adalah my all-time favorites, bar none. Cempedak? Hmmm... Mencium baunya aja saya ogah, apalagi makan buahnya.
Satu lagi mbak Fairy (aduh! Kalo dalam bahasa Inggris kan ada arti yang rada insulting!): Kan yang suka masak bukan cuma puan-puan atau ibu-ibu? Kami para cowok pun suka memasak. Kasihanilah kami. Akuilah keberadaan kami.
If you ever want to become Indonesia's traditional culinary ambassador (Link), you have my vote!

#250. Dear Oreo,
I will try these Fried Oreo Treats to judge myself. I'm writing about the same OLD Oreo Package your been packing your cookies in for ever. There is no way to get the cookies out plastic sleeve out without tearing the packing open by kids & adults or if you do then you can't get the plastic sleeve back in the package it self. Then there is no way to reseal these. Maybe if they were to be packaged like the Chocolate Chip cookies or Crackers, so many in an individual sleeve and so many sleeves per box or package. Just a suggestion! I've been eating Oreos nearly since 1912 and still enjoy them all. Maybe even Fried!! Thanks for your time!!!
