#36. Mhhmmm. I was planning on making these tonight. Yummy! Thanks for the pictures - but *butter*? o.0 California born and bred, with Asian minimalist tendencies, and I o.0 at your decadence! But MHMMM, butterrrr.... Have you tried these treats with a bit of chocolate melted over the top? Homemade stuff tastes better cause you can adjust for sweetness.

Ataupun tanda Halal from the Islamic Council/Authority from the country of origin ... sebagai satu contoh ... TruBlue Garlic Butter contohnya (tanda Halal dari Australian Islamic council). Adakah anda percaya pihak pengimpot marshmallow tersebu yang memang semahunya meyakinkan orang Melayu/Islam yang marshmallownya halal? Saya pernah bertanyakan mengenai gelatine (wanted to buy some for my baking) dari peniaga yang megatakan gelatin yang dijualnya Halal siap ada certificate. Saya menegaskan saya ingin melihat sendiri certificate tersebut. What was stated in the cert was that the gealtine isn't made from any pig/pork. Is that halal enough? Certainly NOT. Halal is more than just No Pork. It is sad that people care less about things they consume these days tapi ikutkan nafsu saja. I hope this is taken in a very positive context. Malaysia has an islamic Authority which guarantess us the Halalness of a product. If true indeed Halal, the manufacturere should get the genuine Jakim Halal certificate. Thank You.

#29. Thanks for the recipe and the cute picture of the little guy. The step, by step photos really helped a lot. When I made mine, placed waxed paper in the dish before squashing the mixture in. They came out really easy with less scrubbing up. Also, thanks for the note regarding the gelatin. I have been trying to let some Hindu friends who eat marshmallows know about this but they did not believe it. Now they are convinced, thanks to you. By the way, the chocolate Rice Krispies work too.

#25. You're right DD, Kellogs do sell the marshmallow rice krispies treats in ready made form, in shiny blue packets. I used to buy tons of them while I was a uni student in the US, couldn't get enough of it. Much prefered the original one compared to the chocolate one (too sweet).
I haven't found them yet in Malaysia, hence why I decided to share this recipe.

#8. Wah, sepertinya enak tuh buat breakfast…cuma marshmallownya bener2 halal gak, Fai? Kalau emang halal, gue pesan satu dong Fai. Maksudnya satu truck...

#6. Suria, apanya sangat, all you need to do is melt some butter and marshmallow over the stove, the rest of the steps just constitutes adding and stirring the cereal into the caramelized mix! Easy as pie, this recipe will turn any dapur-illiterate person into a pro chef instantly!
